Constant-resistance Agc Attenuators for Transistor Amplifiers
نویسندگان
چکیده
Following the suggestion made in the Quarterly Progress Report of January 15, 1955, we have built a variable-gain bandpass amplifier, centered at 9. O0 Mc/sec and having a nominal bandwidth of 1. 7 Mc/sec, with tetrode transistors. The amplifier in Fig. X-l consists of four synchronously-tuned stages, two of which are gain-controlled by means of constant-resistance agc attenuators. The pertinent data for three different designs are given in Table X-1.

Resistance Agc Attenuators for Transistor Amplifiers
This research is aimed at problems of interest in communication systems. Principles of transistor circuit design and practical limitations imposed by available devices are being investigated for circuits useful in a wide variety of applications. At the present time problems pertaining to gain control in transistor amplifiers are being investigated. The study of noise in semiconductors is a clos...
متن کاملLow-noise properties of squeezed light in transmission chains formed from nonlinear alternating attenuators and amplifiers.
An idealized model of an optical communication link in which identical sections of nonlinear attenuating 6ber alternate with identical amplifiers is considered. Signal-to-noise ratios of chains of these elements for input squeezed and coherent light have been numerically evaluated. It is found that input squeezed light and nonlinear attenuators improve the signal-to-noise ratios with respect to...
متن کاملQuantum noise properties of non-ideal optical amplifiers and attenuators
We generalize the standard quantum model (Caves 1982 Phys. Rev. D 26 1817) of the noise properties of ideal linear amplifiers to include the possibility of non-ideal behavior. We find that under many conditions the non-ideal behavior can be described simply by assuming that the internal noise source that describes the quantum noise of the amplifier is not in its ground state. We validate this m...
متن کاملSimple model for fundamental intermodulation analysis of RF amplifiers and links
Introduction: The demands in cellular radio systems to provide maximum dynamic range in uplinks, are very high. To achieve as large a dynamic range as possible, amplifiers, fibre-optic components and electronically controllable attenuators have to be very linear. In this Letter, we present a model for analysing intermodulation (IM) in RF amplifiers, or other nonlinear systems such as narrowband...
متن کاملGraphene polarity controllable amplifier and its applications
This paper exploits the unique ambipolar conduction property of graphene field effect transistors to realize a single transistor polarity controllable amplifier. The amplifier is polarity controllable since its small signal gain can be switched between positive and negative modes through proper biasing. Polarity controllable amplifiers can greatly simplify communication circuits in applications...
